The Graduation Ceremony organized at the end of February by the Attica Tourism IEK in the hospitable area of the school in Anavissos, was coordinated by the co-founder and commercial director of the award-winning travel magazine grtraveller, Mrs.
Lillian Psyla,
together with the communication and public relations consultant Mr.
Thodoris Varvia.

This is the first graduation ceremony held after the pandemic of the coronavirus and the first event organized after the re-establishment of the D.I.E.K Anavyssos, responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism in IEK Tourism of Attica. In this context, the management, teachers and trainees of the school planned and implemented a brilliant event, which, apart from the awarding of the Vocational Training Certificates (VTC), included a speech by the Director of the School, Ms.
Haras Kovousi
and presentation by the Business Development Director of Santikos Collection Group, Ms.
Katerina Santikou

The Vocational Training Certificates (VET) were awarded by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Sophia Zacharaki, the vice-president of the WTO, Mr. Eugenios Vasilikos and the Business Development Director of Santikos Collection Group, Ms. Katerina Santikou, to the graduates of 2020, 2021 and 2022.

The Director, Ms. Hara Kovousi spoke about the regional dimension and the strengthening of the supra-regional character of the school by transforming it into a Tourism IEK of Attica, while Ms. Katerina Sadikou presented the opportunities and challenges of the labour market in the tourism sector, highlighting in particular the issue of staff shortage and how this affects the graduates of tourism schools.

The official guests were welcomed by the trainees of the department “Management and Economics in Tourism” and the department “Executive of Hospitality Units”, while the welcome buffet with sweet and savoury dishes was prepared with the guidance and supervision of their teachers, the trainees of the departments “Culinary Art Technician – Chef” and “Bakery Technician – Pastry Chef”.

The Anavyssos training school has a long tradition of excellent education and training of executives for the tourism and hotel market. Based on the Joint Ministerial Decision signed in September 2020 for the transformation of the Public Vocational Training Institutes (D.I.E.K.) under the Ministry of Tourism, into Tourism Vocational Training Institutes of the Law. 4763/2020, renamed IEK Attica Tourism Institute.
