Among these places are the spa towns that offer many different holiday “packages” under the umbrella of spa tourism. Water, as a thalassotherapy or healing space, is now a prerequisite of life for any animal or plant organism and we should not forget that, according to the Old Testament, water was first created by God, giving it supernatural properties. The presence of thermal springs in Greece is significant, from ancient times until today. From Homer and mythology, to Thermopylae, where Hercules bathed after every feat, to the Asclepias and their systematic study by Hippocrates, the reports of Xenophon and Lucian, the thermal waters
\nplayed an important role in the life of the country.<\/p>\n
Today, there are some 750 main thermal springs, some of which have spa and thermal tourism facilities, which are preferred for holidays by both elderly people and much younger people who play sports at the springs’ facilities. We are referring to some of these spa towns, according to the data contained in the book by the president of the Academy of Medical Medicine, Kostas Koussoukis, who is also a professor of dermatology and president of the Chinese Academy of Medical Medicine.
