Mountain or sea, island or inland, whatever you choose, rooms and apartments for rent are an economical solution that will “loosen” your holiday budget and possibly save money for more fun or even for more days of stay in one of the thousands of dreamy Greek destinations.
The rooms to let now have several amenities and a kitchen to make your coffee and cook, especially if you are watching your diet or have small children.
Prices start from 40 euros per night and the price goes up depending on the season, the destination and the category of the room or apartment.

We recommend…
If you are travelling with good friends, you can choose a large apartment with two or more rooms to share the cost while if you are travelling with your family and have young children, make sure you learn about safety and accessibility issues (e.g. not having too many steps) and about the kitchen equipment (kettle, toaster, coffee maker, etc.) where you can prepare their milk, easy, healthy and affordable meals as well as the necessary morning coffee. Find out if the property you are interested in offers breakfast, whether it is included in the price or at an extra charge, and whether it is part of the “Breakfast Basket”. Although it is not compulsory, some rooms not only provide breakfast to their guests but also participate in a Confederation activity called “Breakfast Basket” which promotes local products and cuisine. If you are not one of those people who like to walk miles to the nearest beach or drive, then ideally you should choose rooms that are close to the beach for a unique experience of “getting out” (from the room) and “diving” (into the sea).

5+1 things you need to know…
1. All rooms and apartments are required by law to provide soap and toilet paper as well as the necessary linen, towels and other bed linen.
2. It is also compulsory to provide hot and cold water 24 hours a day and a pharmacy box with essentials either in the room or in a common area.
3. The rooms or apartments of category 3 keys and above must provide internet access (wi-fi service) 4. Depending on the category of keys the accommodation is obliged to change towels from 3 times a week and linen from 2 times (for 1 key category) up to 7 times a week and 4 times a week respectively (from 4 keys and above). If you need to change sheets or towels earlier, know that they don’t have to do so.
5. Cleaning of rooms depending on the category of accommodation should be done at least three times a week.
6. Finally, don’t forget that the same applies to rooms and apartments as to hotels: the room is available after 14:00 on the first day of arrival and you must check in by 12:00 on the day of departure. Rooms and Furnished rooms and apartments

On the website of the Confederation of Businessmen of Tourist Accommodation in Greece (SETKE), at www.setke.gr/el/hotels you can find any accommodation in Greece
you are interested in and book directly with the owner of the accommodation without intermediaries and time-consuming procedures. Alternatively you can contact
local Federations and Associations.

DO YOU WANT TO SUCCEED?

It is observed that about 25% of those admitted to higher education do not continue their studies from the first days of attendance (non-registration and non-receipt of books). Subsequently, one in two students are classified as “perpetual”, as they never complete their studies. Thinking about this I realize that many teenagers while making an effort to
the Panhellenic Examinations, ultimately this success is not consistent with their desired choice of subject of study. The usual way is to give priority to the school, not the profession. That is, the criteria should relate to what is considered a good school, where it is, etc. When in fact the profession needs to be the priority as this is what you will follow for several decades and not just four years. Although the schools have different knowledge, they have a certain common structure. But then the professions differ enormously. The choice of a professional direction is recommended to be made after having received the appropriate information, through study guides and professionals in the field. Apart from the information, take into account your personal interests and personality traits. Let’s look at more specific questions that will help you make the best choice for you. First of all, ask yourself about the working conditions and the environment:

1. In which area of employment can you work most efficiently and in which area would you be most suited? In the private sector, the public sector, as a freelancer or in an international organisation? Ask yourself about the competitiveness, working hours, stability, creativity and potential for progression that each sector will offer you. 2. You may work in the same industry, e.g. a pharmaceutical company as another fellow student, but in different departments and this requires different skills and abilities, e.g. a research department,
the production department or the marketing department. So ask yourself if you like analysis and data collection more or if you like to create?
3. For example, you may have gone to school for design and worked as a graphic designer, designing brochures or models, while someone else from the same school may have gone into graphic design.
product design or web design, i.e. in a different industry. Also, in making your decision, it will help to ask yourself the following questions:

Questions about the subject you will be pursuing:
– How challenging is it to understand how a computer works compared to trying new techniques in cooking?
– Do you always find opportunities to be in nature?
– Do you prefer to create constructs all the time instead of observing how something works?
– Do you keep going back to history for information to back up your opinion?
– Do you always wonder about the functioning of the human body?

– Do you love travelling, interacting with tourists and learning about new cultures?

Questions about your personality:
– Do you prefer to follow procedures and instructions or take the initiative?
– Do you want to have a work-life balance?
– Are you used to isolating yourself or seeking the company of others?
– Do you want to keep generating ideas and implementing them?
– In each purchase proposal, do you analyze the possible options and the maximum financial benefit?

Of course, in the final choice there are also typical factors that you need to ask yourself, such as:
– Financial reasons (studying in another city)
– Exam grades
– Reputation of the institution

At the end of the selection remember that the end result may not be your 1st choice, but that doesn’t mean you won’t succeed professionally. Adaptability and flexibility are characteristics of successful people. Gaining knowledge in one subject now does not prevent you from evolving professionally into something else. Having a strategy and planning your way based on your own needs, capabilities and dreams, that should be the ultimate goal.

Good luck!

Tonya Tsirogianni
Career Advisor,
business coach

ECONOMIC HOLIDAYS Rooms and apartments for rent: Accommodation economic and comfortable Schools are closed, exams are over, the much-needed time off from work has been arranged and you’re thinking about where to go on holiday with your friends, significant other or family.
