The beach of Bouka, five kilometers from the center of Messini, is a clean and awarded with a blue flag beach that every summer is flooded with families as it is safe for children and adults with the presence of a lifeguard to reassure bathers. Next door for the lovers of the alternative is the beach of Agios Nikolaos, which is not organized. <\/span><\/p>\n

The grove of Bouka offers a special glamour to the beach has been recently shaped in an ideal condition for touring and sports activities. It is a forest that touches the sea and is rarely found in mainland Greece. <\/span><\/p>\n

Returning to the city centre with its twin squares (one small and one large) you have the possibility of many options for coffee, food and dessert. <\/span><\/p>\n

Shops of health interest with a long history and new ones that offer a chance to relax and immerse yourself in the gastronomy of the region. <\/span><\/p>\n

Around the square and in the narrow streets around the city a very attractive market is developing with many businesses housed in old or neoclassical buildings.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the city there are scattered buildings of particular architectural value and a walk through the city’s narrow streets helps to lose the feeling of the decade you live in. Even in the open courtyards of the old houses of the city you can find people enjoying the coming of the night, greeting you and chatting in groups as you might only see in period films.<\/span><\/p>\n

The city has sports clubs, cultural clubs and important cultural events take place throughout the year. <\/span><\/p>\n

The buildings of the OSE, the National Bank, the old town hall and many more are an excuse for the traveller to “meet” the history of a city that may have lost many important public services today, without losing its glory and expecting its rebirth. <\/span><\/p>\n

The people of the city who “scattered” it in Greece and abroad rightly adore it and often collectively or individually promote and honour it. The city also has an “animated” potential of young people and older people who are fighting for the future of Messina. <\/span><\/p>\n

“On the river Pamiso I fly a kite high….”<\/em> writes Gatsos and sings Mitsias and the old people weep at the memory of their beloved city and the visitor crossing the river has now understood their momentous relationship with this city. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
