Those who come to Rhodes on Sunday, September 24, at 21.00 will have the opportunity to live a unique experience to participate in the special musical event and exhibition that will take place in the palace of the Grand Master with the violin of the leading composer <\/span>Wolfang<\/span> Amadeus<\/span> Mozart.<\/span> .<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The event entitled “<\/span>Mozart<\/span>‘<\/span>s<\/span> Costa<\/span> Violin<\/span>“, from Salzburg to Rhodes, <\/span>\u03b4<\/span>The Mozarteum Hellas, the Dodecanese Ephorate of Antiquities, the South Aegean Region, the Municipality of Rhodes, the IOPAR and the Honorary Consulate of Austria in the Dodecanese. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Especially for the public and visitors of Rhodes, the violin “Mozart’s Costa Violin” will be exhibited in a special room at the Palace of the Grand Master, on the same day, 24\/09\/23 from 08.00 to 19.00.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The above actions, exhibition and music event, are part of the celebration of the European Heritage Days 2023 entitled: “Cultural Heritage and Tradition: ‘Testimonies of yesterday to today’. They are addressed to the public of Rhodes, visitors to the island, the educational community, music schools, conservatories etc. It is a unique experience and of great importance for the music-loving public and not only, to admire the violin and enjoy the concert with its music.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

At the musical event the “<\/span>Costa<\/span> Violin<\/span>” will be presented by <\/span>Linus<\/span> Klumpner<\/span>, Director of <\/span>Mozart<\/span>– <\/span>Museums<\/span>. A concert will follow with the soprano Natalie Eleftheriou, the <\/span>Anja<\/span> Morning<\/span> with the “<\/span>Mozart<\/span>‘<\/span>s<\/span> Costa<\/span> Violin<\/span>” <\/span>and Eugenia Votanopoulou on piano. The Mixed Choir of the Municipality of Rhodes under the direction of the conductor Michalis Kalaentzis will also participate. (<\/span>PP<\/span>)<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

The “<\/span>Mozart<\/span>‘<\/span>s<\/span> Costa<\/span> Violin<\/span>” <\/span>named after the famous <\/span>violin maker <\/span> Pietro Antonio Dalla Costa. According to an original note on the inside of the instrument, the violin was made in Treviso, Italy in 1764. In terms of violin construction, Dalla Costa based his violins on the Amati models and his violins are still sought-after musical instruments for concerts, as they are known for their warm and loud sound. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Mozart bought this violin and used it for his performances in Vienna. After several changes of ownership, the violin was acquired by Dr. Nikola Leibinger-Kamm\u00fcller in 2013 to be presented later at the International Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg as a donation. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The violin is used on special occasions and offers the unique and highly emotional experience of listening to the music of perhaps the most important composer of all time through his personal instrument.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
