An eventful gastronomic festival, based on a variety of events, based on<\/span>based on the principles of the circular and sustainable social economy,<\/span> starts today, for the second year, in Piraeus, organized by the Municipality, as part of the celebrations of World Tourism Day.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The 2nd Gastronomic Festival, <\/span>
\n “Piraeus Taste Festival: Sea Food and More” <\/span>
\n<\/b>will take place from Friday 22 September to Sunday 24 September, with parallel events at Mikrolimano, Alexandra Square, Pasalimani, Kanari Square, Korai Square and Piraeus Square.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Especially for this year, the <\/span>“<\/span><\/b>Piraeus Taste Festival<\/span><\/b>: <\/span><\/b>Sea Food and More<\/span><\/b>” <\/span><\/b>is dedicated to sustainable cuisine inspired and guided by the philosophy of <\/span>zero food waste<\/span><\/b>.<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

“Our goal is to promote and highlight the gastronomic identity of Piraeus, which can be a key pillar for the further development of tourism and through this festival, which we want to establish as an institution, to attract even more visitors to our city”, said the Mayor of Piraeus, <\/span>

To <\/span>“Piraeus Taste Festival: Sea Food and More”<\/span><\/b>, “sets sail” with the event <\/span>“PIRAEUS TASTES”,<\/span><\/b>which will take place on <\/span>Friday 22 September, at 19:00, in Mikrolimano<\/span><\/b>, where award-winning chefs and <\/span>masters <\/span>will present tasty creations inspired by the sea of Piraeus and will introduce us to the secrets of fish eating and wine tasting.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Near us will be the Michelin star award-winning chef <\/span>Christopher Peskias <\/span><\/b>from the restaurant “<\/span>Balthazar<\/span>“, from the restaurant “Papaioannou” the <\/span>c<\/span>hef <\/span>Konstantinos Pappas<\/span><\/b>, the Piraeusian <\/span>Master of Wine<\/span>, <\/span>Konstantinos Lazarakis, <\/span><\/b>\u03bf <\/span>ambassador <\/span>in the pan-European campaign “<\/span>Taste the Ocean<\/span>” chef <\/span>George Tsolis <\/span><\/b>and the famous food blogger <\/span>Gogo Papadionysiou (<\/span><\/b>M<\/span><\/b>amatsita).<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/p>\n

The cooking demonstrations will continue throughout the weekend in an original culinary experience with the signature of renowned chefs <\/span>c<\/span>hef, <\/span>pastry chef<\/span>, sommelier – qualified professionals in the wine sector – who will propose their own flavours and creations.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The collaboration of the Municipality of Piraeus and the executive chefs of the <\/span>Acropolis Chef’s Club of Attica, <\/span><\/b>continues this year with the <\/span>“CINEMA ON A PLATE”, <\/span><\/b>The <\/span>Saturday 23 <\/span><\/b>& the <\/span>Sunday 24 September<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>at 19:00<\/span><\/b>, where the live cooking show and the tasting are accompanied by a cinema screening of favourite films in the open-air cinema of the <\/span>Alexandra Square<\/span><\/b>.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

In the context of the internationalisation of the festival, the 2nd <\/span>“Piraeus TasteFestival: Sea Food and More”, <\/span><\/b>The <\/span>Saturday 23 September<\/span><\/b>, <\/span>11:00-19:00<\/span><\/b>, will be hosted at Alexandra Square on <\/span>“TASTES OF THE WORLD” <\/span><\/b>with culinary creations, unique exotic flavours and cultural activities, the cultural section of the Chinese Embassy, the Embassy of Panama, the Embassy of Peru, the Consulate of the Dominican Republic, the city of Mendoza, Argentina and ethnic restaurants of the city of Piraeus.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

With ten years of successful culinary wisdom-comedy-experience behind him, he comes to Piraeus to talk about things that plagued him in the kitchens of the army, his mother’s (!), always in his own unique way, of course. At the same time, our city’s restaurants participate in the great celebration of gastronomy with menus especially for those days, offers on specific dishes and drinks.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

During the festival there will be cycling tours of the city’s neighbourhoods. From the local traditional market in Goounari and the surrounding streets, to the ouzeri of Piraiki and from there to the Zea Marina, Pasalimani and the renovated Mikrolimano, a bike tour is the best way to get to know the city’s gastronomic spots. The bike tour is free of charge, is done by electric bicycle and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
