Both emphasized the importance of collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and developing a unified strategy for the city\u2019s future growth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1796\">Mr. Diamantopoulos noted that digital nomads represent an especially dynamic audience with the power to positively influence destinations, describing this year\u2019s summit as a significant step toward shaping sustainable tourism models. Mr. Koutlas referred to the city\u2019s multidimensional drivers of development \u2014 from agri-food production and education to digital innovation \u2014 stressing the value of synergy among academia, businesses, and the startup ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1798\" data-end=\"2007\">In her address, Deputy Minister of Tourism Anna Karamanli congratulated Marketing Greece for organizing the initiative and highlighted Greece\u2019s capacity to evolve into a leading destination for remote workers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2009\" data-end=\"2191\">She praised the country\u2019s hospitality, rich history, vibrant culture, and high quality of life, while underlining the need for strategic collaboration and infrastructure development.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2193\" data-end=\"2230\">Additional remarks were delivered by:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2232\" data-end=\"2477\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2232\" data-end=\"2322\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2234\" data-end=\"2322\"><strong data-start=\"2234\" data-end=\"2256\">Vassilios Gorgolis<\/strong>, Deputy Regional Governor for the Environment, Region of Epirus<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2323\" data-end=\"2404\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2325\" data-end=\"2404\"><strong data-start=\"2325\" data-end=\"2344\">Christos Tatsis<\/strong>, Deputy Mayor for Trade, Business Development and Tourism<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2405\" data-end=\"2477\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2407\" data-end=\"2477\"><strong data-start=\"2407\" data-end=\"2426\">Spyros Sourelis<\/strong>, President of the Ioannina Hoteliers Association<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2479\" data-end=\"2699\">During the summit, the WORKFROMGREECE.GR initiative was presented by <strong data-start=\"2548\" data-end=\"2567\">Androniki Kalfa<\/strong> (Marketing Manager, Marketing Greece), while <strong data-start=\"2613\" data-end=\"2629\">Lotus Vrijma<\/strong>, founder of <strong data-start=\"2642\" data-end=\"2651\">Avnea<\/strong>, shared the vision and actions of her platform.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2701\" data-end=\"3090\">Under the theme <em data-start=\"2717\" data-end=\"2745\">\u201cEducation and Innovation\u201d<\/em>, Professor <strong data-start=\"2757\" data-end=\"2782\">Savvas Christoforidis<\/strong> (Director of the Institute of Biomedical Research \u2013 IBE\/FORTH and Professor of Biological Chemistry at the University of Ioannina Medical School) engaged in a thought-provoking dialogue with journalist <strong data-start=\"2985\" data-end=\"3002\">Maria Akrivou<\/strong>, focusing on the opportunities born from research collaboration and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3092\" data-end=\"3165\">The panel <em data-start=\"3102\" data-end=\"3155\">\u201cIoannina | A Center for Technology and Innovation\u201d<\/em> featured:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3167\" data-end=\"3390\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3167\" data-end=\"3331\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3169\" data-end=\"3331\"><strong data-start=\"3169\" data-end=\"3190\">Georgios Goletsis<\/strong>, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Ioannina and Scientific Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit (MOKE)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"3332\" data-end=\"3390\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3334\" data-end=\"3390\"><strong data-start=\"3334\" data-end=\"3353\">Stelios Gouskos<\/strong>, Chairman of the Board at Terracom<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3392\" data-end=\"3584\">The speakers emphasized the pivotal role of human capital, the need for international outlook, and the importance of building strong partnerships to achieve sustainable technological progress.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3586\" data-end=\"3986\">The day concluded with <strong data-start=\"3609\" data-end=\"3626\">Irini Maragos<\/strong>, Co-founder of the Innovation and Digital Economy Hub, welcoming foreign digital professionals currently living in Ioannina. They shared their overwhelmingly positive impressions of life in the city \u2014 highlighting its sense of safety, the friendliness of locals, widespread English proficiency, pleasant climate, cultural richness, and exceptional gastronomy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3988\" data-end=\"4293\">On Saturday, April 5, the summit wrapped up with a <em data-start=\"4039\" data-end=\"4053\">Walking Tour<\/em> dedicated to the city\u2019s business heritage.
