It holds, in fact, an important place in every meeting of the Cappadocians everywhere (Gavoussystem).<\/p>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>&#8220;[Folk dances and songs]&#8230; have survived as the quintessence of our history. They held torches, their bags of food and as soon as the &#8220;resounding&#8221; signal was given by the rifles, they proceeded with a dance step, to the slow Byzantine rhythm of the song <strong>&#8220;t&#8217; Ez-Vassili&#8221; <\/strong>which begins with the words<strong> &#8220;Hytate to go to Es-Vassili&#8221; <\/strong>(run to Santa Claus).<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">&#8220;Let&#8217;s go get some E-Christmas,<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">Let&#8217;s tear down the crepes of the snake<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">Essyren dazi gave me a geyser,<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">Last night, I was just talking to her.<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">Vai, Holy Mary, Mother of God<\/span><\/h5>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"color: #800000\">\u039a\u03cd\u03c1\u03b9\u03b5 \u03b5\u03bb\u03b5\u03ae\u03bc\u03bf\u03bd, \u039a\u03cd\u03c1\u03b9\u03b5 \u03b5\u03bb\u03ad\u03b7\u03c3\u03bf\u03bd!\u201d<\/span><\/h5>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u03a0\u03c1\u03ce\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2 \u03c0\u03bf\u03c1\u03b5\u03c5\u03cc\u03c4\u03b1\u03bd \u03bf \u03c0\u03b1\u03c0\u03ac\u03c2 \u03ba\u03b1\u03b9 \u03b7 \u03c3\u03c5\u03bd\u03bf\u03b4\u03b5\u03af\u03b1 \u03c4\u03bf\u03c5. When they arrived at the distant cave with the chapel of the Saint, where local tradition wanted him to have ascended or taken refuge to save himself from persecution, the priest would chant while the faithful lit candles, worshipped and incense. Others were preparing the fires to dry their snow-soaked clothes, get warm and start the feast. They grilled their spits, spread the rich delicacies they brought with them, bought wine and set up the dance.
