The signing of the use and concession agreement for the construction of the Pylaia Marina between the Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Pylaia-Chortiatis marks a pivotal moment for the development of the broader Central Macedonia region.

The marina will be a project of supra-local significance, adding substantial value to the Municipality of Pylaia-Chortiatis by enhancing its role in advancing maritime tourism across the region.

“The Ministry of Tourism is moving forward with initiatives to bolster maritime tourism as part of our strategic vision for the qualitative growth of Greek tourism,” stated the Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni, during the concession agreement signing ceremony at the Pylaia-Chortiatis Town Hall. The Minister was warmly received by the Mayor, Mr. Ignatios Kaitezidis.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Dimitris Vartzopoulos, and the President of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE), Mr. Lazaros Kyrizoglou.

This agreement resolves a protracted issue of delays, postponements, and bureaucratic obstacles that have persisted since the project’s zoning in 2012.
