From the first moment you pass through the doors of Kassandra, the canal of Nea Potidea, you know that you will be enchanted. Exotic landscapes are revealed in an otherwise Greek destination with a history that goes back thousands of years. This is the natural beauty that the people of Chalkidiki saw when they built their colonies here and who could have imagined that this rock that the goddess Athena “flew” to “close” the giant Enceladus in the bowels of the earth, would be transformed into an oasis for unique summer experiences. It followed its history to the Byzantine towers of Sani and Nea Phocaea, to its ancient temples in Kallithea and Poseidi. He walked along the cobbled streets of Afitos, stopping at the historic church of Agios Dimitrios and the Folklore Museum. He discovered the Sanctuary of St. Paul gushing out of the rock and the Lighthouse of Neptune that once stood beside the wave.

The sound of the waves “licking” the sand as they gently pass over it. The rustle of pine trees gazing at the sea. The summer melody of the cicadas in their well-established for the season “concert” but also jazz, pop, rock, classical and Greek masterpieces that flood the hill of Sani every July and August.

Whether by the sea or in the cobbled squares of the picturesque villages of Kassandra, fresh fish and seafood have their place of honour. But the menu could not be without its excellent quality cheeses such as goat’s cheese and the unique olives. Savour delicious pies, spoon sweets and its wines, famous since ancient times.

Touch
Dense pine forests “diving” in the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Toroneos Gulf and the Aegean Sea. Sandy beaches inviting you to get to know them, to relax under the hot summer sun. From the exotic Posidi, the famous Sani, Hanioti, Glarokavos and Kryopigi, the western leg of Halkidiki is full of stunning beaches. He drove through picturesque little villages and walked on lush paths deep in the heart of Kassandra. From Pefkohori, get on one of the boats that make sea tours to discover small islands and isolated beaches. And as you seek some relaxation, the Baths of Agia Paraskevi are there to heal and rejuvenate you.

INFO: The Lighthouse of Neptune was built in 1864 near the sea. However, over the years the sea has receded and now a narrow strip of sand separates it from the beautiful beach.
