- The new direct flights will connect Athens and Sharjah with a frequency of four non-stop weekly flights
Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest low-cost carrier operator, today marked the inauguration of its first flight connecting Athens International Airport and Sharjah International Airport with four non-stop weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

A welcome ceremony was held on arrival at Athens International Airport, attended by Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, H.E. the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the UAE, Mr. Antonis Alexandridis, H.E. the Ambassador of the UAE to the Hellenic Republic, Dr. Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, in addition to senior management and guests. At the official Gala dinner held the same day, the launch of Air Arabia’s flights from Sharjah to Athens was warmly welcomed by the Greek Minister of Tourism, Mrs. Olga Kefalogianni.
