supported Médecins du Monde’s humanitarian aid missions in Thessaly after the devastating floods, while it was among the main supporters of the Open Polyclinics in Athens and Thessaloniki for the care of Ukrainian refugees, as well as the Open Accommodation Centre “A Step Forward” which hosts vulnerable women and their children.

Honorary award was presented to Sani/Ikos Group by Médecins du Monde, recognizing its contribution to the humanitarian action of the non-governmental organization, as well as its overall work in support of vulnerable social groups. The award was presented at an event organised by Médecins du Monde in honour of the organisation’s sponsors and supporters.
The hotel group, responding immediately to the need to provide assistance to the residents of Thessaly after the devastating floods last September, supported with funding the dispatch of medical teams of Doctors of the World in the region during the first period of the crisis. The organization’s teams visited 26 villages and communities, distributing food, basic necessities and personal protection and hygiene equipment to families in need. Through this action, over 500 people were directly assisted, mainly elderly people and children, while indirect beneficiaries exceed 1,400. With the support of the Sani/Ikos Group, Doctors of the World continue their social action in the region, with the setting up a local office in the municipality of Palamas that provides psychosocial support and health promotion services to residents.

The Sani/Ikos Group was also a supporter of the action of Doctors of the World in support of the refugees from Ukraine, being among the main supporters of Open Polyclinics in Athens and Thessaloniki who provided health care and psychological support to women and children as well as to the Open Accommodation Centre “A Step Forward” which accommodates vulnerable women with their children.
Enhancedo social work due to the emergencies
