ANNOUNCEMENT

Modifications to the routes of the AEGEAN to and from Heraklion, Corfu and Rhodes due to upgrade works

operated at airports

AEGEAN informs its passengers about extraordinary modifications to its flight schedule in the near future from and to Heraklion, Corfu and Rhodes, due to upgrade works carried out at the local airports.

Specifically, from Wednesday, March1, 2023 (9:30 a.m.) until Monday, March 6, 2023 (6:00 a.m.), Heraklion Airport “Nikos Kazantzakis” will be open for flights exclusively by helicopters and only for a limited period of time during the day. For the period in question, AEGEAN’s routes will be operated only by ATR aircraft, while it is necessary to modify the company’s previously published flight schedule. In order to better serve passengers, AEGEAN has arranged for the addition of extra flights both to Heraklion airport, during its operating hours, and to the other airports on the island (1 extra daily flight to Chania and extra flights to Sitia). In particular, flights to and from Heraklion and Thessaloniki will be operated from Chania airport with an Airbus 320 aircraft, while the company will take care of the road transport of passengers.

It is also recalled that on Thursday 23 February, AEGEAN’s regular services to and from the airport “Ioannis Kapodistrias” of Corfu, which were interrupted due to works on the runway, will resume. As the works will continue to be ongoing, until Thursday 23 March and for operational reasons, the services will be operated exclusively by helicopters. AEGEAN has already increased the number of flights to meet the needs of the island.

Finally, due to the ongoing works at Diagoras Airport in Rhodes, there will be no flights from 2:00 pm every Wednesday until 1:00 pm every Thursday for the coming weeks until 23 March (with the exception of1 & 2 March). The rest of AEGEAN’s flights to and from Athens will be operated with larger Airbus 321 aircraft, to serve the travelling public. At the same time, flights to and from Kastellorizo will continue to operate normally.

It is noted that special care has been taken for passengers on connecting flights, while all passengers affected by the above changes will receive personalised information on the options available to them.
