Taste of Loutraki: The biggest gastronomic festival of Corinth was a huge success

The Taste of Loutraki 2024, held on the first weekend of June, has become an institution for the city of Loutraki and the wider region of Corinth, attracting more visitors to the area and integrating the dates of the Gastronomic Festival into the programs of tourist packages and individual travelers.

From 31 May to 2 June, catering businesses and hotels inspired menus based on the local products of Corinthia and offered them for this three-day event to the local public and visitors, who had another reason to enjoy their getaway in the Municipality of Loutraki-Perachora-Ag. Theodoron. At the same time, specialized tourism – gastronomy journalists and representatives of tourist offices from Athens and Thessaloniki, participated in a familiarization trip organized in the framework of the Festival, during which top chefs, producers of local products, sommelier of oil and wine as well as Corinthian companies joined forces and presented the rich gastronomic identity and products of the Corinthian land!

In the framework of Taste of Loutraki 2024, in an effort to highlight the gastronomic tradition, an Open Gastronomy Event was organized on the beach of Loutraki. The protagonists are the producers of fine Corinthian products, chefs of renowned value and the Laboratory of Special Vocational Education (E.E.E.EK.) of Corinth. The guests had the opportunity to enjoy live recipes, using typical local products of the Corinthian land, from Head Chef Konstantinos Vassalos, Executive Chef Panagiotis Diamantopoulos from PIPERI restaurant, Chef Dimitris Farmakis from EZ YHN restaurant, Spyros Karvounis from VARKALAS restaurant, and the bartender, Nikos Lalos from Anassa The bar, who created a cocktail especially for the evening, using Loutraki loukoumia as a raw material. The event also included a demonstration of trahanot making by the Experience Perachora team, tastings and wine tastings to the sounds of musicians Elias Doskoris, Vassilis Kardaras and Paris Gerkis. The presenter was the excellent TV journalist Thanos Vagios.

During the Festival, the specialized journalists and tour operators experienced and recorded unique travel experiences from their tour of the surrounding area, and had the opportunity to participate in tasting workshops on the local olive oil and Nemea wines. Among these experiences was a visit to the facilities of the hospitable Oleosophia Olive Garden & Olive Oil Tastings, of award-winning olive oil producer-taster and founder of Oleosophia Marianna Devetzoglou, in Kalentzi, Corinthia. They also visited the SEMELI ESTATE Winery. They were guided to the vineyard where the journey of the wine begins every year, to the winemaking and bottling areas and to the cellar where the wine is matured with care and love. This was followed by an exciting tasting experience, where the guest journalists had the opportunity to taste a variety of unique wine labels, both new and old vintages.

A unique experience was the cocktail event at the hospitable Admiral Bar of Club Hotel Casino Loutraki, where the guests had the opportunity to taste special sweet and savory creations – with traditional products of Corinthia by Chef Kostas Zoumbourlis, while enjoying the unique view of the pools and gardens of the luxury hotel with the magnificent sunset on the Corinthian Gulf as a background. At the Corinthian Brunch Tasting event at the luxurious Wyndham Poseidon Loutraki Hotel on Sunday, the Resort’s head chef Haris Spyropoulos, curated an excellent contemporary Brunch event using local products, which impressed the participants. At the same time, presentations / tastings of Corinthian raisins by the owner of Geobres SA Angeliki Geomprès and Corinthian Honey by the owner of Isthmos Beekeeping Panagiotis Tsavalos.

The Taste Of Loutraki – TheCorinthian Food Festival 2024 was supported with multi-level promotional campaigns at national, regional and local level. Specifically, outdoor campaigns of great scope were carried out in Attica, entries and articles in the media, and on its own detailed website in Greek and English. A special online application that was available to the general public all days of the festival, displayed on the taste map all the participating businesses, with the menu offered and details of the location of each business. The Festival was also promoted through the communication channels of all the organizers, with posts on their own and partner social media with many thousands of followers.
