ZAKYNTHOS

As Mrs Christina Tetradi, Vice President of the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels and President of the Laganas Hoteliers Association, noted on August 29, answering journalists’ questions: “After the new special restrictive measures, a difficult summer in Zakynthos becomes even more difficult…”

Specifically after the announcement of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, for the restrictive measures that will be in force in the Prefecture of Zakynthos, Mrs Christina Tetradi, said to reporters the following:

“Everyone’s health is above all, so our cooperation with the competent authorities on the new measures is a given. Of course, after the new special restrictive measures, a difficult summer becomes even more difficult.

Zakynthos tourism has implemented and will continue to implement all appropriate sanitary measures. The hotels in Zakynthos, from their first day of operation until today, have been operating exemplarily, diligently observing all the protective measures against coronavirus, with relevant training of their staff, fully complying with the strict rules of the Special Health Protocol for Hotels (HEALTH FIRST).

Unfortunately, we will count great financial costs and significant business losses in an already lost tourist season.”

Concluding, Mrs. Tetradi stressed that: “It is now urgent to design a permanent mechanism to support businesses and workers in areas where special restrictive measures (lockdown) are in force. It is a matter of survival for Zakynthos, as our economy depends solely on tourism.”
