The Agios Pavlos Friendship Club opens to welcome citizens who leave their homes

The Mayor of Athens, Charis Doukas, realizing the emergency situation that has arisen from the intense seismic activity in the Cyclades, contacted immediately with the Mayors of the islands, was informed about the situation and the immediate needs of the residents. He declared himself ready to provide assistance on behalf of the Municipality of Athens, if necessary.
Also, the Mayor of Athens, in a letter to the President of the KEDE, Lazaros Kyrizoglou, asked for the immediate convening of the Board of Directors of the Central Union of Municipalities of Greece (KEDE) to examine ways to support the municipalities of the Cyclades in need.
At the same time, the Municipality of Athens is immediately putting into operation the Agios Pavlos Friendship Club (22 Mamouri & Dimi), to accommodate people who are forced to evacuate their homes. The Friendship Club will remain open for as long as needed, offering safe shelter, shelter and food to those in need.
