SKY express: A Significant Initiative – Free Flights for Children and Educators from Santorini to Athens

In response to the extraordinary circumstances in Santorini and the surrounding islands affected by ongoing seismic activity,

SKY express is taking a proactive step by offering free airline tickets to children and educators.

From Wednesday, February 5, to Sunday, February 9, 2025, all children up to 12 years old can travel free of charge on flights departing from Santorini to Athens.

Furthermore,  SKY express is extending this initiative to all educators—both permanent and substitute—serving in the affected islands (Santorini, Ios, Amorgos, and Anafi) who wish to travel from Santorini to Athens during the same period.

To accommodate increased travel demand, SKY express has already added five extra flights to and from Santorini since February 3, 2025. On Monday, February 3, the airline operated a total of eight flights from Santorini to Athens (six scheduled and two additional), while today, Tuesday, February 4, another eight flights are scheduled—all of which are fully booked.

The airline’s average ticket fare is €52.41 (including €24.41 in VAT and airport taxes), covering both a carry-on bag and a personal item.

Committed to serving local communities, SKY express remains in close coordination with the relevant authorities. Should additional travel needs arise, the airline is prepared to introduce more emergency flights.
