The promotion of the special characteristics of the sensitive region of Evros and its businesses operating in the field of agrotourism is the central objective of the events organized by the KINSEP “Aroma of Evros” in Pythio, Didymoteicho, on 10 and 11 June and in Valtos, Orestiada, on 17 and 18 June.

The events are being held this year for the second year under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organisation, as they highlight a mild thematic activity that links the tourism sector with primary production and at the same time promote the comparative advantages of the region.

As part of the “Aroma of Evros” events in both Pythios and Valtos, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the lavender farms of Kinosep, learn about the company’s activities and get to know the famous silk fabrics from Soufli.

They will also be guided to the castle, the metal railway bridge, part of the route of the legendary Orient Express, and other sights of Pythios, enjoy the sunset with the Evros River in the background accompanied by local dishes and wines and watch the screening of a film inside the farm.

The action “Aroma of Evros” is part of the implementation of innovative agrotourism programs in Greece, focusing in this case on the cultivation and production of lavender.
