Destination: Japan” at Athens Airport!

Cultural DestiNAtions Events Continue

On November 15, passengers and visitors at Athens International Airport embarked on a virtual journey to Japan, celebrating the Greece-Japan Tourism Year as part of the Cultural DestiNAtions program, a collaboration between Athens International Airport and the social enterprise “FELLOI.”

An electrifying and meticulously choreographed performance featuring traditional Taiko drums, flute music, an impressive kimono dance infused with hip-hop elements, and an operatic excerpt from Madama Butterfly brought the mysterious allure of the Land of the Rising Sun to the airport’s departure area. The magic of Japan was further showcased through ikebana flower arrangements, an origami demonstration, and haiku verses displayed on a giant screen. Travelers and visitors strolled the streets of Tokyo via VR, posed with swords and kimonos at a photobooth, participated in a fun quiz, and enjoyed Japanese culinary delights and beverages.
