POTAP opens up to the U.S.A. through the hosting of an American journalist

 

 

In order to promote and introduce the comparative advantages of Pieria to the American public, the Pierian Organization for Tourism Development and Promotion (P.O.T.D.P.), hosted and informed the American journalist Ms. Chanin Victor, editor of “TravelAge West“, in cooperation with the Region of Central Macedonia and the Tourist Organizations of Thessaloniki and Halkidiki, guiding her to the natural beauties of the place with reference to the mountainous, semi-mountainous and lowland areas, the coastal front with its long coastline and the abundance of hotels, the pilgrimage, archaeological and historical sites, the tradition and customs of the inhabitants, as well as the productive activities of the citizens of Pieria.

 

 

The hospitality took place between 24, 25 and 26 June.

The journalist from the USA was informed about the actions of the Pierikos Tourism Development and Promotion Organization, aiming to promote all forms of tourism at the prefecture level.

She showed particular interest in what she was informed about, and there were many times when she expressed her admiration, stating that she was fascinated by what she saw in Pieria, blessed by the gods.

During her presence, meetings were held with the Vice-Regional Governor of Pieria, Mrs. Sofia Mavridou, the members of the Board of Directors of P.O.T.D.P. Mrs. Afroditi Bellou and Mr. Stelios Uza and the Director of the Organization Mr. Vasilis Dimou.

 

 

The journalist was welcomed by the Vice-Regional Governor of Pieria, Mrs. Sofia Mavridou, who referred to the comparative advantages of the region: “Pieria with its archaeological and religious monuments, its beautiful natural environment, the opportunities it provides for various activities in nature, the special and unique local flavors, covers a wide range of interests. Our constant aim is to establish Pieria as a four-season destination, to develop alternative forms of tourism and to link them with the primary sector and our rich cultural heritage.

During her stay in Pieria, Ms Victor visited the archaeological park of Dion where she was guided through the long history of the place, while she also visited a local winery, an agrotourism unit and the permanent paleontological exhibition in Neocaissaria.

At the same time, he had the opportunity to discover the mythical Mount Olympus, through a special guided tour at the National Park Information Centre, the traditional settlement of Paleos Panteleimon and a short boat cruise on the coast of Pieria.

He left the area with the best impressions of the Abramian hospitality, the natural beauty and the unique combination of mountain and sea that Pieria offers.
