The Minister of Tourism Mrs Olga Kefalogianni with her counterpart Mr. Clayton Bartolo signed a Memorandum of Tourism Cooperation between Greece and Malta at a special ceremony in Valletta

 


A Memorandum of Cooperation between Greece and Malta was signed today by the Minister of Tourism Mrs Olga Kefalogianni and her counterpart Mr. Clayton Bartolo at a special ceremony in Valletta, where the 7th Mediterranean Tourism Forum was held.

To achieve the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding, a joint action plan has been agreed, which includes, inter alia:

α) Institutional cooperation

b) Exchange of information and know-how

c) Information on tourism investments

d) Tourism promotion

(e) Vocational tourism education and training

f) Cooperation within international organisations related to tourism.

Cultural and religious tourism, maritime tourism, gastronomic and wine tourism, wedding tourism, as well as film-induced tourism are the main areas of special interest that can be exploited for synergies and mutual learning. The Parties recognise the importance of tourism for strengthening friendship between the peoples of the two countries and for the development of economic relations.
