STUDENT LIFE AND… CHICKEN!

HAVE A GOOD TIME WITHOUT SPENDING TOO MUCH.

The student years are the ones that remain forever engraved in our minds! So now that you’re already in the swing of things, make sure you have as much fun as possible without having to spend a fortune. Simple and economical. All you need is your student pass and good company:

  1. If you’re studying in another city, you know the options: halls of residence or renting a house. In the second case, see if he or she is entitled to a student housing allowance.

  1. If you live relatively close to the School, walking and cycling are ideal, not only for your “pocket” but also to keep fit. Otherwise, with the student pass you pay less for buses and transport.

  1. Prepare healthy snacks from home. Not something complicated. A piece of fruit, a piece of toast, some sesame cookies from the oven and you’re good to go. You’ll have money left over for an extra cup of coffee.

  1. If cooking is not your thing, the student residence provides free or low-cost food (not necessarily good food!).

  1. Offer your friends “culture nights” in theatres and cinemas with a reduced ticket price or, even more economically, organise film screenings at home. Get some popcorn together, cook something simple like pasta or pizza and share the joy and, of course, the expense.

  1. Instead of a gym, choose the municipal stadiums where entry is usually free.

  1. Dreaming of trips to the surrounding areas with friends? Travel economically with discounted tickets on long-distance buses, buses and ferries for your getaways and every time you want to see your family.

  1. Take the opportunity to visit all the archaeological sites and museums, free of charge or with a reduced ticket.

  1. Is the hair matted, the root showing and the nails need a touch up? You can be in the “hair” without spending a lot of money. You take out the magic slip of paper (we said the pass) and show it to hairdressers and beauty salons that offer special prices to students.

  1. We left the best for last! You want to talk to friends and family, share photos, surf the web but money is not enough to cover your increased communication needs. You are a student, don’t forget it! Get a certificate from your school and go straight to the phone company that suits you. Student packages, especially prepaid, are much more economical, give you enough data and minutes and extra offers for shopping, food and coffee at well-known places.

The choices are many! However, to be truly economical, first plan what, how and when, depending on your available luggage, needs and preferences.
