The new 5-star Tella Thera hotel, set to open in the summer of 2025 in Kissa
mos, Crete, and aiming to redefine sustainable hospitality, has received two prestigious awards at the “International Property Awards 2024.”

In collaboration with Pierris Architects and the construction company Hellenic Homes, the hotel earned accolades in the categories of Hotel Architecture and Best New Small Hotel Construction & Design. These awards affirm the commitment to bioclimatic design, allowing luxury to harmonize fully with Crete’s natural landscape.
With a unique amphitheater layout offering guests panoramic views of the Cretan scenery, Tella Thera serves as an architectural model for integrating a hotel into its natural surroundings, blending traditional materials with cutting-edge technology.
Equipped with photovoltaic systems, green roofs, and natural materials such as stone and wood, the complex minimizes its energy footprint while featuring 20 suites, 1 villa, private pools, a restaurant, bar, gym, and spa.

At the award ceremony, Dr. Stella Pierri, Architect from Pierris Architects, noted, “Tella Thera is not just a retreat; it is a sensitive structure where sustainability and elegance coexist harmoniously. Here, the beauty of the natural world becomes an integral part of the experience, with each element reflecting the landscapes surrounding it. Designed with eco-friendly materials and powered by renewable energy, the resort becomes a living extension of its environment—breathing in rhythm with the earth.”
Lukas Tourkomanis, founder of the new Tella Thera hotel, added, “This project is a labor of love for the environment and the hospitality that characterizes Crete and Greece. These awards, the first for our endeavor, recognize the passion and time we have devoted to highlighting the natural beauty of our land and offering guests a unique experience of renewal and reconnection with nature.”
