The World Travel Market (WTM) in London was inaugurated by Greece’s Minister of Tourism, Ms. Olga Kefalogianni, with Greece honored as the featured country at this prestigious international tourism exhibition. Greece had a strong presence at the event, with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) pavilion hosting 81 co-exhibitors from across the country.

During the exhibition, Minister Kefalogianni signed a memorandum of cooperation with EasyJet and EasyJet Holidays, highlighting Greece’s commitment to building dynamic partnerships with organizations that share a common vision and philosophy. This three-year strategic plan aims to deepen collaboration, promote mutual growth, and support sustainable tourism development.
While at WTM, the Minister also met with Andrew Flintham, the new Managing Director of British Airways Holidays, and participated in interviews with key media outlets. She was featured on the BBC’s Business Today, Monocle Radio—reaching an audience of 600,000 listeners—and on the Podcast Radio Business, which has a listenership of 750,000 in the UK and the United States.

Speaking to Greek correspondents and journalists, Ms. Kefalogianni remarked:
“2023 closed as a record-breaking year, and based on current data, 2024 is set to become the new record year for Greek tourism. From our meetings with the British market and beyond, it’s evident that pre-bookings for 2025 are performing very well. However, Greece’s strategy is focused on qualitative tourism development, balancing growth and protecting the natural and cultural environment, and dispersing visitors across all regions of the country.”
WTM serves as an ideal platform for Greece, with a strong presence of 81 Greek co-exhibitors within the GNTO pavilion, representing destinations from Evros to Kastellorizo.
