The 30th Anniversary International Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery, Equipment & Equipment climbed to the peaks of the past Supplies, “AGROTICA”, which made an impressive comeback, attracting 153,623 visitors over the four-day period 1-4 February, a 34.9% increase over the 2022 edition. This size confirmed its dynamics and its characterization as the largest sectoral event in the country and in the Balkans.
The images of the Thessaloniki International Exhibition Centre, which was packed to capacity, and the visitors waiting outside the gates early in the morning were indicative of the pulse of the four-day event. In fact, this year’s exhibition was the most international in recent years, as, in addition to the 49 countries represented at exhibitor level, it welcomed more than 20,000 foreign visitors.
The exhibitors were very satisfied with the commercial contacts that took place, but also with the international character of the event. In fact, their feeling was that it was the best AGROTICA in recent years, not only because of the large number of visitors, but mainly because of the agreements that were concluded directly during the event. Besides, as they mentioned, the visitors they received were targeted, prospective buyers.
At the same time, the people who visited AGROTICA had the opportunity to get in touch with global new technology from the whole spectrum of agricultural entrepreneurship and to choose the solutions and equipment that interested them.
Η 30η AGROTICA attracted 1,804 exhibitors (direct and indirect) from 49 countries and covered over 40,500 sqm of exhibition space. It also welcomed a total of 500 foreign trade visitors from 17 countries (individual Hosted Buyers and four group visits from North Macedonia, Albania and Bulgaria) under the Hosted Buyers programme.
Meanwhile, dozens of “sold out” events filled the exhibition section of AGROTICA, putting on the agenda burning issues related to the primary sector and especially the agricultural sector. Among them, the 10th Panhellenic Conference, organized by the Department of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in collaboration with TIF-HELEXPO, on systems approaches for the regeneration of agriculture and the countryside, the workshop on hemp cultivation by TIF-HELEXPO and Alegre Growshop, and the event on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Agriculture 2.0 in collaboration with the National Research Centre for Technology and Technology (EKETA) stood out.
AGROTICA was held under the auspices of the Ministries of Rural Development & Food, Interior (Macedonia-Thrace) and the Region of Central Macedonia with the support of the Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers of Greece (EKAGEM), the Association of Importers of Machinery Dealers (SEAM) and the Association of Fertilizer Producers and Traders (SPEL).
During the event, the Zero Waste Expo AGROTICA initiative also “ran”.
