WTM 2023: grtraveller magazine beams with success with a special feature on Greek tourism

World Travel Market (WTM) London 2023 was a scene of celebration as grtraveller magazine presented a special issue that captured the essence of Greek tourism in an unparalleled way. Spearheaded by the insightful vision of Ms Margarita Manousos, Director of Business Development, the magazine’s presence was not only felt but also strongly experienced by those in the industry.

 

 

The festivities were enhanced by the interesting discussions between Ms Manousos and the esteemed Ms Sofia Lazaridou, Managing Director of the Greek National Tourism Organisation, as they delved into the dynamic currents that shape Greek tourism. Their discussions echoed the spirit of growth and the passion that fuels the industry.

 

 

The special issue of grtraveller, which adorned various booths – from the Hellenic Tourism Organisation to Aegean Airlines, Fraport and other bastions of Greek hospitality – became a beacon of Greek pride and culture at WTM.

 

The praise for the magazine reached its climax when the Minister of Tourism, Mrs Olga Kefalogianni, and Mr. Dimitris Fragakis, Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organisation, praised the publication for its excellent representation of the tourist charm of Greece.

 

 

The ministerial press conference was a wealth of information, with Minister Mrs.Kefalogiannis and Carol Rose of ABTA to exchange views on sustainable tourism, and the Ms. Eleni Skarveli, to extend a warm welcome accompanied by wine and a productive discussion on Greece’s vibrant prospects in tourism and WTM.

 

 

Greece’s narrative on sustainable tourism, which was also expressed through the pages of the magazine, was well received in the halls of WTM. The participation of Mrs Scarbelli and Mrs Kefalogianni at the “Sustainability Track” panel, put the spotlight on Greece’s efforts diversify tourism products, promote lesser-known destinations and promote year-round travel, in line with the ministry’s vision to mitigate over-tourism through sustainable practices.

 

 

The magazine itself was an anthology of rich content, with warm greetings from the Minister of Tourism, the General Secretary and the President of the Greek National Tourism Organisation, together with in-depth articles on the thematic tourism of the five senses, forecasts for the future of tourism, and the sparkling diamonds of Greek hospitality.

 

 

In a harmonious blend of culture and innovation, the special issue introduced a music playlist on Spotify, inviting music lovers worldwide to contribute and shape the most extensive and exciting music collection on Greece.

The cover of this special issue embodied the multifaceted beauty of Greek Philoxenia, topped with the wreath of victory, embodying it as the supreme treasure of Greece.
